You do not need a full Xcaret Park ticket to see the third Feria Xcaret de Arte Popular Mexicano. From 24 to 27 September 2026 the Hacienda Henequenera sells a standalone fair ticket for 200 MXN, 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with 150 invited artisans selling direct.
That 200-peso door is the part most visitors miss. Grupo Xcaret also folds the fair into any park admission, and hotel guests at Hotel Xcaret México, Hotel Xcaret Arte, and La Casa de la Playa walk in on their stay. If you already hold a park day, do not buy the extra ticket. If you only want textiles, ceramics, and wood, pay 200 MXN at the park booths or through Fever.
Buy from the maker, not a gift-shop markup
Xcaret does not take a commission on stall sales. Artisans pay their own travel. The park covers lodging and meals. In 2025 that model moved more than 23.3 million MXN across 141 stands from 22 states, with 18 Indigenous cultures represented. Leticia Aguerrebere Salido, who runs art and culture for the group, told El Economista the 2026 field rises to 150 makers and adds a contest theme built around the Mexican coat of arms.
Bring cash and a card. Pieces range from small amate paintings and huajes to high-fired ceramics, pita-embroidered leather, hammered copper, and full garments. Last year's catalog, launched at Mexico City's Museo de Arte Popular in March 2026, is the closest thing to a shopping list. Ask for the stall number of a maker you already follow before you walk the hacienda, because the floor is dense and four days go fast.
The 5:30 p.m. runways and the Sunday date slip
Demonstrations run through the Tejabán from late morning. Lectures and panels sit at 4:00 p.m. in the Guadalupe Chapel, in Spanish. Artisan fashion shows are listed for Thursday 24, Friday 25, and Saturday 26 at 5:30 p.m. The official FAQ then places the traditional-clothing runway on "Sunday 26" at the same hour. Sunday in 2026 is 27 September. Treat 5:30 p.m. as the slot, and confirm the clothing show against the live program board when you arrive.
Contest categories are ceramics, textiles, wood, and other techniques, plus the new Escudo Nacional theme. First prize is 100,000 MXN per category. Honorific mentions pay 20,000 MXN. You cannot enter as a visitor. You can watch judging and buy work that did not win, which is often the more interesting pile.
The fair sits inside Parque Xcaret, on Federal Highway 307 about 10 to 15 minutes south of central Playa del Carmen. Colectivos toward Tulum stop at the Xcaret access. A taxi from Quinta Avenida is the simpler drop if you are only staying for the hacienda. Full dates, hours, and the 200 MXN rule also live on the event page.
